I have finally completed one wedding related project. I know it is really out of order but I made my wedding thank you note cards before I even made or sent out save the dates.
After seeing something's hiding in here's block printing demo video for urban outfitters I decided to buy the block printing press featured in the video from the UO website. It was only $80 and I was sick of block printing with a brayer.
This was my first attempt at using the new press. It wasn't perfect but eventually I got it to work pretty well. It was so much quicker and took so much less energy than using the brayer.
I know etiquette probably dictates I'm not supposed to show things like this before the wedding but it is so long off.

Thank You Cards

Crab Card
I made this card for our friend's 30th birthday. Crabs may seem like a odd choice for a 30th birthday card, but the inside has some inappropriate "you mom" joke about crabs that Nate wrote.
That is how card giving works in our relationship. I make the cards and Nate writes something somewhat clever inside.

Hippo Birthday Card
I went to my friend's daughter's first birthday party this weekend. It was the nicest first birthday party I've ever been to. Well actually it was probably the only first birthday party I've ever been to besides my own. But it was pretty fancy for any birthday.
I made her a veronica the hippo birthday card inspired by the incredible Roger Duvoisin book I got at an estate sale the other day.

Lobster Dishtowels
New screen printed lobster dishtowels with the lobster claw oven mitts that I made for Nate's Santa Claws Halloween outfit from last year.
Iorek Byrnison Shirt
Nate and I both recently read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman and became obsessed with it. I know the Golden Compass movie was supposed to be horrible (I still haven't seen it) but the books are amazing. They are like a more mature, darker version of Harry Potter. Our favorite character was Iorek Byrnison the king of the armored bears. I made this shirt for Nate and I made a matching one for myself. We are such dorks.
Maryland Blue Crab Dishtowel
A custom order for Maryland blue crab dishtowels, printed in red. At some point I'll print some of these in blue as well.
Salty Seagull
Inspired by the logo on my Tony's Fish Market plate I made this print of a seagull fisherman.
Twins in Desert Bird Onesies
I forgot to post this picture of my friend from work's twins in the onesies I screen printed for her baby shower.
They are too cute.
